Now the fishing starts for real, with me running in circles in the livingroom not knowing what, how or where to fish. Flyfishing for seatrout, baitfishing and lurefishing from the shore or if I should hit the waves with my boat for some seafishing. I recently rigged and served my boat to be ready for this season and I have already some hours of seafishing the last week, cought a few cods of respectable size. To morrow morning we`ll head out on the waters outside of Bodoe for a halibut and cod tryout, looking forward to that.
The boat is almost out of focus on this picture, but this is all I`ve got. I trailed the boat to the workshop where I work to serve the engine, wash the winter off the plastic and load it with fishinggear, a couple of cannon MAG 15 and also replacing some switches for lights, the electric system and a pump.
MICKEY FINN
Every year I start the early flyfishing for seatrout with this fly, with it`s red and yellow wing it is perfect for the cold sea in april, it looks like something that lives in the seaweed and makes the perfect bait for the fish. This fly is tied of red and yellow foxtail, with a few strings of red flash on a Tiemco size 8 saltwater streamer hook. I am not a flytier, I tie my flies as easy as they can be with the right colors and a wing and body that makes the right silhouette in the water and it seems to work. Cant wait to try out this in 4 feet of water over a sandbottom in my secret special place.
Now I`ll go to bed for about six hours and in the morning my soon to be five month old son Emil will wake me up and I`ll make breakfast and play with him for a while and then my girlfriend will take over and I`ll be heading out with my boat.
Tight lines!!!!
