The weather changed and the fishing became a success. I spendt about 90 minutes fishing in the strong currents in Saltstraumen from the shore and I had several hits and I saved 4 great coalies, the biggest was about 9 kilo. 

 You can se what the giants are feeding on, baby coalfish.

I`m not proud of theese pics, this is not C&R but as a true norwegian I eat fish and that allows me to take a few for my self and my family, this is great food. The quality of the images is poor but with my cell phone camera in the dark and me standing on ice this is the best I could do.

There was to much wind and not enough space for me to cast with the fly so the red and black 100gr lure was the way to do it this time.

Maybe tonight I will have the opportunity to fish with the fly if the clouds dont go away, right now the layer of clouds seems a bit thin and the temperature has dropped a few degrees but the forecast  looks great, -a bit of wind....  

 

I`m not the only one catching fish theese days, Roger Mortimore sendt me a photo of his new personnal best, 11lbs pike. One happy angler. I hope next year I can get the time to hunt down a pike myself, they dont live in our waters so I need to travel over to sweden, 5 hours in the car and I Believe I can find the perfect lake shortly after purchasing a fishinglicens.
